I remember looking at the Winding Roads quilt pattern in the Sept/Oct 2009 Quiltmaker magazine. I quickly dismissed it as way too complicated for me. So the magazine went into the pile, in a cabinet, out of sight, out of mind.
However, since then, I have seen a photo of my Canadian friend, Lorraine's quilt. I WANT TO MAKE ONE!!! She's made several. I went searching for my copy of the magazine and located it quickly in the pile. I looked at cutting directions and have determined I could quickly dive into my 2 1/2 square bucket (thanks to Bonnie Hunter's Scrap User's System-head over to quiltville.com to find that info) and the 2 1/2 inch strip bucket with the companion angle to make the HSTs in a hurry.
But this is the UFO year, and my list is ridiculously long, so I am not starting another quilt. I am holding the Winding Roads out as an incentive, I am getting FIVE quilts finished before I start Winding Roads as a Leader & Ender project. (quiltville.com has that also!)
Guess who will be quilting while basketball is on the TV?
